Join our Commercial team as a New Business Proposal Writer at our Haverhill manufacturing site and help shape the future of our pharma services. In this pivotal role, you’ll craft and deliver tailored proposals that drive new business opportunities and showcase our capabilities in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
As a New Business Proposal Writer, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, spanning technical, operational, R&D, and commercial areas, to ensure every proposal aligns with client needs and highlights the full breadth of our pharma services. Your expertise will be key in translating complex capabilities into compelling, client-focused solutions.
Your Responsibilities
You will:
Coordinate a triage process for new business opportunities to ensure they fit with the business strategy and can proceed to quotation.
Lead the creation, writing, and editing of proposals for late development phase and commercial client products.
Partner with business development and operational teams to gather technical, financial, and strategic input.
Ensure proposals are client-focused, persuasive, and compliant with regulatory and company standards.
Manage proposal timelines, deliverables, and review cycles to meet deadlines.
Collaborate with Business Development to support clients during the proposal process, ensuring clarity and responsiveness.
Maintain a library of proposal templates, standard responses, and case studies.
Collaborate with business development, finance, supply chain, operations, quality and technical services teams to develop tailored proposals for new and existing clients.
Analyse customer requirements and translate them into clear, actionable scopes of work.
Coordinate proposal timelines, pricing strategies, and technical content to ensure timely and competitive submissions.
Continuously improve proposal processes and tools to enhance efficiency and win rates.
Maintain relevant sales tools to manage proposals and data collation with high accuracy.
Be responsible for managing CDA’s with new & existing clients as required.
Participate in and/or lead relevant business meetings to track proposals and provide status updates as required, with relevant metrics.
Our Requirements
· Strong understanding and familiarity of GMP manufacturing, regulatory environments and industry standards for late development phase and commercial operations
· High level of proficiency in Excel, Microsoft 365 and CRM systems
· Experience operating with a high level of numerical and financial acumen
· 3–5 years of experience in proposal writing, business development support, or commercial operations within the CDMO, pharmaceutical, biotech, or related field.
· Proven track record of developing successful proposals for development phase and/or commercial product services.
· Experienced in customer engagement, with a strong ability to build rapport and manage client expectations through exceptional communications, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
· Experience managing commercial metrics, KPIs, and dashboards
· Proven success influencing cross-functional teams
